Today is a big day! I started thinking about this day three years ago and for 18 months, a small team of us have been working to allow this music to breathe! After a lengthly legal process, TWF were able to obtain the master recordings from EMI and have an official release! I want to thank so many of you for your support over the last few years. This is our win - all of us. This World [is] Fair!
Check out the press release below! Spread the word! Let’s celebrate

MINNEAPOLIS—Dec. 15, 2008— Minneapolis-based rock band This World Fair releases a self-titled debut album on December 16, 2008 on CSB Entertainment.
The band is led by Minneapolis native Chris Kalgren, who writes and performs original music under the stage name This World Fair. Described as “the pop side of rock and the rock side of pop,” This World Fair features songs produced by Al Clay (Pink, Pixies, Blur).
This World Fair formed in 2005 as a four-piece band and signed to EMI Records later that year. The band gained national and international recognition through their original song and video for “Don’t Make Me Wait,” which was featured on the soundtrack for the 2007 DreamWorks thriller Disturbia (DreamWorks Pictures/Lakeshore Records). This World Fair completed three national tours between 2006 and 2008, performing with Guster, Phantom Planet and Under the Influence of Giants. Since early 2008, Kalgren has driven This World Fair as an independent solo effort. The first album release comes at the end of This World Fair’s 25-date national tour including stops at Los Angeles’ Viper Room and Summerfest, the world’s largest music festival.
“Chris has an extraordinary depth of talent and his musicality resonates deeply with me and I believe it will universally,” said Grammy-award winning producer and This World Fair manager Stephen Short. “When I hear the vocals of This World Fair, I know that people will have the opportunity to have their lives uplifted.”
Through its accessible guitar-driven melodies and well-crafted lyrics, Kalgren provides a road map to travel the emotional terrain that exists between people. This World Fair’s opening track “Can’t Stop Falling” shimmers with a certain urgency, while the irresistible “Drama” pokes good-natured fun at a girl who just can’t help herself when it comes to being the center of attention. The gorgeous “San Francisco” is ushered in by strings that give the song an epic quality.
This World Fair can be purchased at www.thisworldfair.com or digitally through iTunes, Amazon, Napster and Rhapsody. Streaming full-length songs are available at www.thisworldfair.com.
Kalgren will tour with a full band to support the record in 2009. This World Fair is managed by the Los Angeles-based firm Ping Pong Music.
